Symptoms induced in a diseased plant of Madagascar periwinkle (Catharanthus roseus) due to infection by 'Candidatus Phytoplasma asteris'-related strain NJAY. Strain NJAY is a member of 16S rDNA RFLP group 16SrI, subgroup 16SrI-A (I-A).




Symptoms induced in a diseased plant of Madagascar periwinkle (Catharanthus roseus) due to infection by phytoplasma strain JR1. Strain JR1 is a member of 16S rDNA RFLP group 16SrIII, subgroup H (III-H).

Latin names of plants -- Latin names of the plants should be in italic letters.

'Candidatus' names -- 'Candidatus phytoplasma asteris' should be written as 'Candidatus Phytoplasma asteris'. The correct abbreviation is 'Ca. Phytoplasma asteris'.
